The Takamatsu Regional Meteorological Observatory announced on Wednesday that the someiyoshino cherry blossoms had begun to bloom in Takamatsu. This is two days earlier than average and one day earlier than last year.

According to the observatory, the early blooming is believed to be due to factors such as higher-than-average temperatures in February. If conditions remain typical, the blossoms are expected to reach full bloom in about a week.
