Japan’s Takaichi to Give Indo-Pacific Policy Speech in Vietnam

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has begun making arrangements to deliver a diplomacy policy speech during her planned visit to Vietnam over the Golden Week holiday in May, government sources said.

She intends to outline new specifics of the free and open Indo-Pacific policy and call for strengthened cooperation with Southeast Asian nations.

The new specifics will promote cooperation with Indo-Pacific nations in the fields of economic security, economic growth through problem-solving and security coordination. In light of the tense situation in the Middle East, the speech is also expected to mention financial support for energy procurement.
