Tokyo’s Yamanote Line Resumes Services Following Suspension Due to Fire (UPDATE1)

Services have resumed on the JR Yamanote Line in Tokyo after a suspension caused by a passenger’s smartphone or mobile battery catching fire inside a train between Shin-Okubo and Shinjuku stations.

The fire occurred at about 4:10 p.m. Sunday. Operations restarted at 6:12 p.m.
