Let’s make an origami kabuto
A kabuto is a helmet that was worn by samurai in medieval Japan, including the Sengoku period, for protection in battle. Today, kabuto are hung up on May 5 for the Boys’ Festival— known as Tango no Sekku — to wish for boys’ healthy development.
To make a kabuto, all you need is a square piece of paper cut from the paper strip wrapping that came with this edition of The Japan News. Ready? Let’s get started!
