Japanese ski jumper Kobayashi earns silver in large hill ski jumping

Japanese ski jumper Ryoyu Kobayashi won silver medal in the men’s large hill ski jumping at the Beijing Winter Olympics on Saturday night. This was the second medal for Kobayashi after his gold medal in the normal hill on Sunday.
The 25-year-old Kobayashi had jumps of 142.0 and 138.0 meters to score 292.8 points at the Zhangjiakou National Ski Jumping Centre.
Kobayashi, an Iwate Prefecture native, placed 10th in the large hill at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics.
In the qualifying round on Friday, Kobayashi finished ninth with 121.3 points.
