A photo by Yomiuri Shimbun photographer Keita Iijima was selected as “Best Shot of the Year” by visitors to the “Baseball Press Photography Exhibition 2025,” held from Dec. 13 through Feb. 1. The exhibit was organized by the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, and the Tokyo Press Photographers Association, whose members include newspaper companies.

In its 11th year, the exhibit featured 69 photographs capturing dramatic moments from the baseball world over the past year. The winning image, titled “World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto,” shows the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Yamamoto smiling as he raises a trophy after being named the most valuable player of Major League Baseball’s World Series. The photo received 413 votes out of 3,789 cast. The top five photographs are being displayed in the museum’s entrance hall until late November.
