8 new omicron cases confirmed in Japan

Eight people were newly confirmed to be infected with the omicron variant of the novel coronavirus in Japan, government sources said Friday.
Four omicron cases had been confirmed in Japan as of Thursday, all of which were discovered after positive tests at quarantine facilities.
