Kishida meets with WEF head

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida greets WEF Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo on Monday.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met on Monday with Klaus Schwab, executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, to confirm their efforts to strengthen international unity in addressing global issues.
“Unity is required to create global political trends that promote economic and social transformation,” Kishida said to Schwab, in reference to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The two spoke at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo.
Regarding the WEF’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, scheduled for late May this year, Schwab said, “[The meeting] will be an excellent opportunity to discuss current issues, including those related to Ukraine and post-COVID 19.”
