A liquefied petroleum gas carrier owned by a Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. affiliate firm passed through the Strait of Hormuz and exited the Persian Gulf, the company said Saturday.

It is the second vessel with connections to Japan to do so since the United States and Israel launched their attacks on Iran.

According to the company, the LPG tanker was the Indian-flagged Green Sanvi, owned by its affiliate in India. The crew, vessel and cargo are all safe, and the ship had entered safe waters sailing toward India.

The company has not disclosed the number of crewmembers or their nationalities but said no Japanese nationals were on board. It also did not announce for security reasons why it had been able to pass through the waterway.

The blocking of the strait initially forced 45 Japan-affiliated vessels to anchor in the Persian Gulf. It was then revealed Friday that a Mitsui LNG tanker was the first to pass through the strait. According to the Japanese Shipowners’ Association, 43 vessels remain in the area.
