All Nippon Airways will from next month operate its daily regular schedule of domestic flights serving Haneda Airport in Tokyo for the first time since March 2020.
ANA made the announcement Thursday, saying it will operate these normal flight services through Aug. 31. Depending on the situation with the flights, a decision will be made on whether to continue regular operations for September and beyond.
Taking all domestic routes into account, ANA expects only a 2% reduction in service in July and August.
The pandemic has led to ANA reducing flights since March 6, 2020. In May that year, 85% of flights were suspended.
Recently, however, passenger numbers have recovered to 60% of the level before the pandemic. ANA expects passenger numbers in July and August to rise to 80% of prepandemic levels.
