About 100 meters of a national highway in Oyabe, Toyama Prefecture, has collapsed and is closed to traffic, with some cars being forced to turn back, due to earthquakes that have continued since Monday in the Hokuriku region.
The collapsed section of National Highway Route 359 is in the city near the border with Ishikawa Prefecture. A 47-year-old employee at a gas station along the highway said, “I’m worried about people in the construction industry, who must be in trouble.”
